  • He has the right touch.

His touch had driven me wild, to the point of wanting to make bad decisions. I found myself feeling something between us-a park- it pushed it aside and attributed to me lusting after him.

He has an unique sense of humor.

"Why exactly are you helping me?" I ask. I'm surprised when his first reaction is to release a soft laugh to himself.

"Can't a guy just help a girl without it being about something other than to help out? Chivalry's not completely dead, you know. It still exists," he answers.

I send him a questing stare. "Really?"

He comes to a halt and spins around to face me. "Okay, you got me. I still really want to get in your pants." He moves closer, eating up the space between us. "I'm kidding," he says when he sees my face turn sour. "You intrigue me, Liv. You're not like more girls."

    He has serious moves.

I'm silenced by Heath's lips pressed firmly against mine.. He rises up a bit and gently presses his chest against me while planting his hands on either side of my hips.

Olivia is so serious, Heath balances her out. I know what it is like to balanced out by my love and it is the best feeling in the world. There really isn't a better book boyfriend than one who is your opposite in every way and still loves you for you.

Character Interview: Seelie King from the Transplanted Tales Series

One moment I am on my front porch sipping some sweet ice tea and the next minute I am in front of the Seelie King, sitting in a plush, high-back chair in the middle of a vast study filled with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and centuries-old furniture. Seated opposite me behind an enormous desk sits a man whose regal presence is imposing and commanding. Even though he’s sitting, I can tell he’s tall. And his blue eyes are intense, scrutinizing.

    Angela: Ummm… what just happened?

King: You requested an audience with me, did you not? (Spreads his hands) Well, here you are.

    Angela: You…You’re the Seelie King.

    King: Indeed, I am.

Angela: (Shaking a little because well I am in front of the King of Fae. Deep breath… calm cool and collected. Get it together Angela, your readers are depending on you. Clears throat.) I was wondering a few things, if you had the time that is….

King: (Peering down his nose at me, studying me intently.) Very well. I will allow five questions. (Waits in silence for a long moment then gestures toward me.) Whenever you are ready, madam.

Angela: Why did you bind Gideon to you?

King: Well, you do get to the point, don’t you? I had several reasons. But, to put it simply, I saw a greatness in Gideon that he failed to see in himself. He has served my family with unwavering honor and loyalty for centuries—as I knew he would.

Angela: Why did you accept his relationship with Lavender, when you knew that your wife would be against it?

King: I value my children and their happiness above all else. Lavender, as my eldest daughter, is particularly dear to me. I would see her happy no matter the cost. If that meant turning a blind eye to her relationship with Gideon when we were in Make Believe, I was happy to do so. Even when Lavender didn’t realize I was watching over her, helping her, defending her, I have been there. As for Mab… She accused me over overindulging our children. I accused her of being heartless. We reached an impasse. I allowed Mab to control many things… The love I have for my children was not one of them.

Angela: (Shakes head in dismay) Why did you stay with Mab? She is just ghastly.

King: For all the wrong reasons, as it turns out. (Heaves a heavy sigh.) I believed I owed it to her. You see, I tried to be happy once, to follow my heart. It led only to tragedy and heartache for those I cared for most. So, I resigned myself to my responsibility to the throne and to the woman who shared it. At least, that’s what I’d thought. But it seems Mab’s substantial power had influenced me as well. I say I was unaware of that fact, but who knows? Perhaps I allowed it as penance for my mistakes.

Angela: Having learned from the mistakes you mentioned, what do you hope for all of the Tales that are close to Lavender--Red, Trish, and of course Gideon?

King: We Tales can be a rather maudlin lot, mired down in the drama that surrounds us, the history that has followed us to the Here and Now. They all have managed to shed their pasts—or have at least made peace with them. And they each have found love that transcends time. And so my remaining wish for each of them is that the times of joy and love and laughter far outweigh the times of tears and sorrow.

Angela: Do you know what their futures may bring? If you do are you telling?

King: Who’s to say what the future will bring? Not I. But I suspect that there will be other tales to tell. Someday. And, now, if you’ll excuse me, madam (rises and offers a slight bow), I’m afraid there is another meeting I must attend.

In the blink of an eye, I’m back on my porch, sweet tea in hand. Wondering if my interview with the King had truly happened or if I’d imagined the whole thing… a Rafflecopter giveaway

There is something about a guy asking for permission that gets me every time. It is extremely swoon worthy. Seth in general is swoon worthy though. He takes such great care of Charlie and yet he will still tell her when she is wrong.

Waiting on Wednesday (34) The Young Elites

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.

Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.

Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.

Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.

Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.

It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.

    Why I am waiting?

This one is a step out of my normal genre and I think it will be positive step away from my faithful stand-bys. I want to know what happens to Adelina- will she make them pay? Who is them? Pretty much I am curious about the direction of this book.

    Review: Opposition

    Author Jennifer L. Armentrout
    Format paperback
    Print Length 500 pages
    Publisher Entangled Teen
    Published August 5, 2014

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

    My Opinion

This review may contain spoilers from the previous four books in the Lux series- precede with caution.

Opposition is a book that is a rarity. A book that has you biting your nails, screamingat the characters, laughing out loud or even tears in your eyes. A beautifully written conclusion to an action packed series.

Opposition takes place literally days from when Origin ends. The aliens have gathered, new ones have come. Katy, Archer, and Luc are alone without their Lux allies. They can’t be sure if they are allies anymore as there has been no contact. The world knows that the Lux exist now- how can they not, if there are attacks going on everywhere. Katy finds out that Bethany is pregnant and decides to go for supplies with Archer. This is where she is taken out, by Dawson none the less.

Dee is an evil-she-witch to Katy, who has no clue why. Daemon is indifferent to her and this breaks her heart. There is an origin around that tries to make Katy’s life a living hades. What she doesn’t know is that with her bestie and boyfriend acting like they are she is already living in her own Hades. Katy has nothing else to lose and boy does that cause the hair on my arms to stand up. She finds out soon enough that with his indifference he is protecting her still, always, and forever.

The invading Lux are bad- as in evil to the core bad and it was interesting to see the earth Lux interact with them. The earth Lux that did not have a human that was bond to them literally got brainwashed. It will take an unlikely ally in order to stop the invaders. It will take the enemy to save loved ones. But can Daemon and Katy convince them to join the cause. Can they literally walk into the enemies lair?

Opposition is a book that you literally speed read to find out how it all ends. There will be no interruptions. There can be no interruptions as you put your life on hold for a few short hours. You have to as the fate of the world depends o
n it. This conclusion to a series is one of the best I have read in a long time.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Favorite Quote I always had this plan for the off chance I was around for the end of the world. I’d climb up on my roof top, turn up the radio, blast R.E.M.’s It’s The End of The World, and watch it all go down from my lofty perch.

    He is Hot.

“She couldn't take her eyes off him.
He had sandy-blond hair and piercingly green eyes. Today he wore a deep-red T-shirt with the word BOUNCER printed across the back. The material pulled tightly over his muscular chest. He was a specimen.
But the most striking feature about him was his smile.
The man was bewitching, and Sofia knew a thing or two about bewitching.”

He can give a compliment and kiss at the same time.

“Diesel," she moaned, "you are so damn sexy."
He paused, breaking the kiss, his eyes filled with wanting as he gazed down on her. Then his mouth went up at an angle. "No, that would be you, Sofia. You are unbelievable. I don't think I've ever seen anyone who hold a candle to you.”

    He can be brutally honest.

"And honestly, you guys got to knock this shit off.  It's like a supernatural ping-pong match around here, and all our necks are too damn sore.  It's time to kiss and make up.  he grinned and gave them a wink.

He can be sweet when he needs to be.

Then he brought his lips down, and she gulped as he placed a chaste kiss, featherlight, against her forehead and moved down to hear ear and whispered, "Sleep tight, Sofia, I'll be right here if you need me."

Diesel is a shifter who makes you want to be his mate.  He is extremely protective of Sofia and doesn't yet understand why.  It is a shame that he doesn't give his shifting powers under control around the full moon, but hey we can't all be perfect.

Waiting on Wednesday (33) Whisper the Dead

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Gretchen is struggling with her newfound gift as a Whisperer; the constant buzzing in her ears from detecting spells is more frustrating than fun, especially when she is spending time with one of the Order of Iron Nail's Keepers, the icy but strikingly handsome Tobias Lawless. But while Gretchen tries to hide the truth and resolve her feelings for him, London fades from beautiful and bustling to deathly silent ...Something evil is once again menacing Mayfair, and Gretchen and her cousins must use their powers to prevent a horrible sacrifice.

This second book in the Lovegrove Legacy trilogy is full of dark twists, spellbinding suspense and sweeping romance - perfect for fans of Cassandra Clare, Lauren Kate and Ruth Warburton.

    Why I am waiting?

I love love love pretty much anything that Alyxandra Harvey writes. The first book in the series A Breath of Frost was really good. I mean really really good and in it Gretchen and Tobias are secondary characters. I cannot wait to read their story.

    Review: Ever After

    Author Kate SeRine
    Format E-ARC
    Print Length 284 pages
    Publisher Kensington
    Published Aug. 21, 2014

    To Catch a Thief…

For centuries, Gideon Montrose has served the King of Fairies without question and, often, without mercy. So when the King orders him to apprehend a notorious thief, Gideon obeys. But when he finally gets his hands on the beautiful culprit, Gideon’s in for a shock.

Arabella Locksley is none other than the spirited, unpredictable woman he knew back in Make Believe as Robin Hood — the love of his life whose tragic death destroyed his chance at Happily Ever After.

Now, he has an impossible choice. Betray the woman he once loved, or the king he’s bound to serve?

    My Opinion

Once upon a time there was a series that captured my imagination- literally sucked me into the pages of each book for hours on end. So much so that I have recommended this series to literally everyone that will listen. Ever After is the end of that series, and as such it was bittersweet to read.

Throughout the Transplanted Tales Series the reader has been blessed to catch glimpses of Gideon, the Unseelie Fae that is the faithful servant of the Seelie King. Questions would pop into our heads, like why would an Unseelie Fae be a servant to the Seelie King, aren’t they mortal enemies? He once was in love with the daughter of the king- is that allowed? As the series went on more and more questions popped up about Gideon without any answers for the reader to grasp at. Until now… Ever After is Gideon’s story and boy is it story that you will not want to put down.

Gideon was once in love with a beautiful gal name Arabella Locksley, also known Robin Hood. Her tragic death left him bond in the service of his mortal enemy the Seelie King. For five hundred years he has faithfully service the king, doing his bidding as instructed. Someone is stealing from the king, finding out who is the job that Gideon is tasked with. A job he welcomes until he catches a glimpse of Arabella. How is she in the Here and Now? Why is she not dead- she died in Make Believe, he saw her. Why is she stealing dust from the king? Why in all the 500 years that they have been apart has she been hiding? Did she not love him as he loved her?

While Ever After is supposed to be Gideon’s tale at times if felt more like Arabella’s. The Hunt for the Arthurian artifacts, her connection to the king, her background, and of course her connection to Merlin and the Lady of the Lake at times drown out his story. That is until the reader realizes that both stories blend together. There were moments when I wanted to pull Gideon aside and tell him to save his heart- that Arabella was not worthy. I did not trust her as easy as he did, I was angry that she left him in the dark for 500 years. Umm hello that is like eight lifetimes in the Here and Now, so I felt that she could have suffered his wrath a bit longer than she did. I realize that would not be Gideon’s style, though.

Speaking of style, Gideon has pure swag in this tale. Not only does he chase and catch the gal. He goes up against the traitor in the king’s household. He protects the king’s life and his family. Gideon realizes a few things along the way about his king that he never knew. These revelations are pretty amazing, his admiration and love for his king runs deeper than even Gideon knows.

Ever After is a beautifully spun tale that leaves the reader satisfied that all of their favorite characters from the series have achieved their Happily Ever After. Red, Nate, Nicky, Trish, Lavender and Seth all make an appearance and rally among their friend. Their loyalty to each other will bring tears to your eyes. When you finally read the words The End you will sigh, smile put down the book and know that you just read a fabulous Tale.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Favorite Quote “Living without love isn’t easy for anyone, let alone a Tale.”

    Spotlight: Unbreakable

CC Hunter has a new novella coming out, it will be available in the U.S. on September 30th as an e-book and sold wherever e-books are sold. It’s Chase’s story on how he became an orphan and a vampire.

    In Unbreakable you’ll learn:
    1. Della Tsang wasn’t Chase Tallman’s first love.
    2. Never eat a hot dog in two bites in front of someone you want to impress.
    3. When your dog doesn’t like someone, trust your dog.
    4. According to a palm reader, Chase will come upon an amazing power, but whether he will use it for good or evil is yet to be seen.
    5. Never let someone you don’t know very well get you alone in a haunted house.
    6. Chase is told he’s a bad kisser.
    7. To a boy, girls are as frustrating to understand as they are intriguing.
    8. Never underestimate the power of a pet’s love.
    9. Siblings can be a pain in the butt, but never take them for granted. If you lose them, there will be an empty hole in your world.
    10. Never turn your back on a challenge. Especially if that challenge involves a life or death decision.

I will be honest- I am NOT a Chase fan. Hopefully this story will change my opinion about him.

    He is protective.

And now she hates me and I can’t even leave Dauntless to join the factionless, like I was going to, because Eric’s eye is on her like it was on Amar last year, right before he turned up dead on the pavement near the railroad tracks.
All the Divergent end up dead except me, because of my fluke aptitude test result, and if Eric is watching her, she’s probably one, too.
My thoughts skip back to the night before, how touching her sent warmth into my hand and through the rest of me, though I was frozen with fear. I press my hands to my head, press the memory away.
I can’t leave now. I like her too much. There, I said it. But I won’t say it again.”
    ~Four

    He has his priorities straight.

“One thing I know: For helping me forget how awful the world is, I prefer her to alcohol.”
    ~Four

“Just as I have insisted on his worth, he has always insisted on my strength, insisted that my capacity is greater than I believe. And I know, without being told, that's what love does, when it's right-it makes you more than you were, more than you thought you could be.
    This is right.”
    ~Allegiant

He notices the special things in life.

“When her body first hit the net, all I registered was a gray blur. I pulled her across it and her hand was small, but warm, and then she stood before me, short and thin and plain and in all ways unremarkable- except that she had jumped first. The stiff had jumped first.
    Even I didn't jump first.
Her eyes were so stern, so insistent.
    Beautiful.”
    ~Four

“But that wasn´t the first time I ever saw her. I saw her in the hallways at school, and at my mother’s false funeral, and walking the sidewalks in the Abnegation sector. I saw her, but I didn’t see her; no one saw her the way she truly was until she jumped.
I suppose a fire that burns that bright is not meant to last.”
    ~Four

He is concerned for his gal.

“You okay?" he says, touching my cheek. His hand cradles the side of my head, his long fingers slipping through my hair. He smiles and holds my head in place as he kisses me. Heat spreads through me slowly. And fear, buzzing like an alarm in my chest.
His lips still on mine, he pushes the jacket from my shoulders. I flinch when I hear it drop, and push him back, my eyes burning. I don't know why I feel this way. I didn't feel like this when he kissed me on the train. I press my palms to my face, covering my eyes.
    "What? What's wrong?"
    I shake my head.
"Don't tell me it's nothing." His voice is cold. He grabs my arm. "Hey. Look at me."
I take my hands from my face and lift my eyes to his. The hurt in his eyes and the anger in his clenched jaw surprise me.
    ~Divergent

Oh the release of Four's short stories had all the feels.  His love and admiration of Tris is evident in all that he does.

Review: Queen of Hearts: Sin City Collectors Novella

    Author Kristen Painter
    Format e-Book
    Print Length ?
    Publisher self-published
    Published July 1, 2014

Welcome to Las Vegas, home of the Sin City Collectors. The job description is easy: Bring the offending supernatural in to the Boss and don’t ask any questions.

Feline shifter Claudette Marchon traded life as a showgirl to become a Sin City Collector, giving up the glamour to earn some serious cash in order to buy her own business. Mission accomplished, she now runs a pawn shop specializing in gems and jewelry.

Life is good until a Collection job requiring her specific skill set lures her back in. The Queen of Hearts, a museum-worthy ruby and diamond necklace has been stolen from the Boss’s private collection and she’s his last hope to do what two other Collectors have already failed to do. Bring in the necklace. And the thief.

But gargoyle Jason Tennant isn’t quite the dangerous criminal Claudette expects. In fact, he’s not a thief at all. He’s former Special Ops and being set up by the real mastermind, forcing her to decide between the man she’s falling for and the man she works for. Proving Jason innocent may risk the Boss’s wrath, but Claudette’s heart says it’s a gamble worth taking.

    My Opinion

Retired collector Claudette Marchon is being pulled from retirement. Her boss has a case that only she can solve. She must go undercover as a showgirl for Cristos the Incredible an illusionist to retrieve a rare necklace- The Queen of Hearts ruby. It was stolen by Cristos’ (Robert Sloan’s) own body guard a gargoyle named Jason Tennant. Upon meeting Jason Claudette knows something is up.

Jason is being blackmailed by Sloan, into doing horrible things because Sloan has his keystone. The one thing that makes gargoyles vulnerable. Once Claudette knows the truth she promises to help Jason. This ticks off her real boss though and there is a lot of tension. If she cannot prove that Jason is innocent both of them will die.

Claudette is a strong gal, who has a heart. She is likeable although the instant trust in Jason was a bit much considering paranormals are supposed to be weary by nature. Jason is a nice guy and it sucks to see him in the positions that Sloan puts him in. He has no choice but to do Sloan’s bidding.

I adored the first in the series, Aces Wild. This novella was written by a different author than the first. I loved how she stays within the world that Amanda Carson created for us in the first book. Although, I do wish there was a bit more action and a little more romance in this release. Hopefully, Ante Up which releases soon will literally ante up in those departments.

My Rating 3 out of 5 stars

    Swoon Thursday (32) Seven Years

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme. Here's how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog! I want to know & so do the gals at YABound!

"What present?" I stopped drumming my fingers and cleared my throat. Austin bought me a gift?

After a few seconds of clenching his jaw, he finally swung his left arm around from behind his back.

I sucked in a sharp breath. "Oh. My. God."

Lollipops. My absolute all-time favorite candy and he'd made them into a bouquet.  When my face began to hurt, I realized it was because I was smiling so hard the corners of my mouth were getting introduced to my ears.  Austin didn't lift his eyes but had a defeated look on his face as he turned the candy in his hand and stared at it.

"I wanted to surprise you and... it was obviously a dumb idea.  You're not twelve anymore and I should have gotten you something better.  Perfume, or real flowers."

    Seven Years Kindle Location 4533

There is something to be said about a man who absolutely knows his gal. Sure, flowers are nice- so is perfume. But a candy bouquet means he pays attention.

Waiting on Wednesday (32) The Resolution of Callie & Kayden

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Things are going good for Callie and Kayden. They’re still dealing with their past and the pain connected to it, but for the most part they’ve moved on. The biggest decision they have at the moment is what they want to do with their lives in the future.

Eventually, though, the past catches up with them and it leaves them with a choice no one wants to make. But Callie and Kayden learn that as long as they have each other, they can make it through just about anything. And in the end, they discover what they really want out of life.

    Why I am waiting?

Callie and Kayden are an interesting couple to read about- they are not perfect. Both make mistakes, but their love for each other makes it worth it. How will this story end? Will they get their happily ever after? Or does one of them leave? Can we really blame them if one of them bails?

“Do you remember anything about last night?" he asked.
Her stomach churned as memories of the night before swam into mental view. Oh, she recalled a few things. How could she forget? She took a solid gulp of her coffee. "I remember vodka, an ax murderer, and a marriage proposal."
"Good. The important things." He nodded.”

    Review: Silver Shadows

    Author Richelle Mead
    Format e-book
    Print Length 380 pages
    Publisher Razorbill
    Published July 29, 2014

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

In The Fiery Heart, Sydney risked everything to follow her gut, walking a dangerous line to keep her feelings hidden from the Alchemists.

Now in the aftermath of an event that ripped their world apart, Sydney and Adrian struggle to pick up the pieces and find their way back to each other. But first, they have to survive.

For Sydney, trapped and surrounded by adversaries, life becomes a daily struggle to hold on to her identity and the memories of those she loves. Meanwhile, Adrian clings to hope in the face of those who tell him Sydney is a lost cause, but the battle proves daunting as old demons and new temptations begin to seize hold of him. . . .

Their worst fears now a chilling reality, Sydney and Adrian face their darkest hour in this heart-pounding fifth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where all bets are off.

    My Opinion

Months have passed since the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers. At the end of Fiery Heart, Sydney was taken to a re-education center and Adrian was left to wallow in his own self-pity. Adrian has spent those months searching frantically for Sydney, to no avail. He is about to give up and get drunk again. There hasn’t been a clue of her whereabouts in a long time. He has lost track of her evil father and wicked little sister Zoey- they may know the where she is. As he lifts the bottle to his mouth one more time, he mother wakes in and whisks him away back to the Moroi royal court. This may not be the best place for him although it does get him closer to Lissa and Rose. Valissa wants to help but can’t as Sydney is not a Moroi or a guardian. This leaves Adrian frustrated and fed-up. Adrian’s reaction left me frustrated and fed-up as well. His behavior was not what I was expecting from someone so madly in love with Sydney. There were moments when I literally thought the center was folding. Pretty much any scene with Nina in it. Thankfully Sonja told him he was being stupid when it came to Nina.

Sydney on the other hand is inside the rehabilitation center. Here she is being tortured, embarrassed and starved to death. She finally gives in and admits her wrongdoing. From there she is moved to the general population. This is where things get mess and interesting. Before being released into the general population they announce Sydeny’s crime. This automatically makes her an outcast- but have no fear Sydney Sage is here. She soon amasses allies and is able to figure out where the drug is coming from the drug to keep them docile and meek. Something Sydney will never being again. This is the thing that is preventing Adrian from saving her. She risks isolationism by blocking it. One thing I did learn from this book- those Alchemist don’t play. Man, do they not play.

Wowziers! When Sydney and Adrian finally dreamwalk the sparks light the pages on fire. The way he puts everything into action to get her out of the rehab center is pretty hardcore. He waste no time and no expense. He knows that he must do something drastic to save Sydney. But will it be enough.

Silver Shadow was very much a book that pushes the story forward. Others call it a filler book but honestly, had Sydney and Adrian not gone through what they went through the end result would not have been the same. They needed the time away from each other- they even needed to torture that both endures- Sydney physically and Adrian mentally. This makes Adrian’s solution to saving Sydney that much better.

February and the release of The Ruby Circle is way too far away. There are too many questions rolling around in this reader’s head. What are the ramifications of their actions? Will they be able to find Jill? Will she be safe? Who has her, the Alchemist or Moroi? Once again Richelle Mead has proven that she is a master story-teller.

My Rating 4 out of 5 stars

    He is loyal.

“Kat.” He uttered my name like it was some kind of prayer, and then he pressed a kiss against the skin behind my ear. “I broke every rule of my kind to heal you and keep you with me. I … burned down an entire city to keep you safe. I’ve killed for you. Did you think I’d forget what you mean to me? That anything in this world— in any world— would be stronger than my love for you?”

He admits that he needs her.

It’s not like I’m going to run up and hug him.”
His expression turned bland. “I’d sure hope not. I might get jealous.”
“You’d get jealous if she hugged a tree,” Archer tossed out.
“Maybe.” Daemon coasted to a stop in a parking space behind the car. “I’m needy like that.”

    He is the jealous type.

“I stood where I was, telling myself that the ugly heat invading my veins was indigestion and not jealousy. Totally not that, because Archer had nothing on me.
But did he need to hug her that long? And that hard? Come the hell on."

    He is protective.

“I wanted Kat out. Every cell of my being demanded that I protect her, even though I knew she was hella capable of doing so herself, but I wanted her far away from here. Hell, I'd keep her in Bubble Wrap if it weren't so damn creepy and also inconvenient, considering I had a terrible habit of obsessively popping the damn things until not a single bubble was left.”

Daemon has a lot of good qualities. He is not just protective of Katy but also of his entire family. He can be a bit of a douche but he does it out of love.

    He has total swag!

“My God, Sage. Your eyes. How have I never noticed them?"

That uncomfortable feeling was spreading over me again. "What about them?"

"The color," he breathed. "When you stand in the light. They're amazing... like molten gold. I could paint those..." He reached toward me but then pulled back. "They're beautiful. You're beautiful.”

    ~Bloodlines

He has a sense of humor!

“Day 24. Situation is growing worse. My captors continue to find new and horrific ways to torture me. When not working, Agent Scarlet spends her days examining fabric swatches for bridesmaid dresses and going on about how in love she is. This usually causes Agent Boring Borscht to regale us with stories of Russian weddings that are even more boring than his usual ones. My attempts at escape have been thwarted thus far. Also, I am out of cigarettes. Any assistance or tobacco products you can send will be greatly appreciated."

    ~The Golden Lily

    He is patient!

Because I can't help doing it," he said with a shrug. "And hey, if I keep loving you, maybe you'll eventually crack and love me too. Hell, I'm pretty sure you're already half in love with me."

"I am not! And everything you just said is ridiculous. That's terrible logic."

Adrian returned to his crossword puzzle. "Well, you can think what you want, so long as you remember-no matter how ordinary things seem between us-I'm still here, still in love with you, and care about you more than any other guy, evil or otherwise, ever will."

    "I don't think you're evil."

    ~The Indigo Spell

    He looks towards the future!

“Relax, having kids is years away. But can you imagine? Your brains, my charm, our collective good looks... then add in the usual physical abilities dhampirs get.

It's really not even fair to everyone else.”

    ~The Fiery Heart

He knows just what to say!

“Not what you expected, huh?” she asked in a sad voice.

I wrapped a towel around her and drew her close to me. “I expected to see the most beautiful woman in the world, to feel my heart skip a beat in her presence, and to want to carry her off to bed for a night neither of us will forget. So to answer your question, I got exactly what I expected.”

A smile split her face, and she leaned into me. “Oh, Adrian.”

    ~Silver Shadows

Oh Adrian how do I love you! He is the ultimate book boyfriend. There are times you want to shake him, times you want to hit him but always you will want to kiss him.
