"Kiss me." Reassure me you're alive and okay.

Her gaze snapped to his lips. A flush stained her cheeks.

He leaned in close and whispered hoarsely, "Kiss me, wildcat."

Her fingers dug into the collar of his coat and tugged him down to her level. A ripple of shock went through him when her lips touched his. He pressed her backward against the wall.

Waiting on Wednesday (42) Killer Instinct

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Seventeen-year-old Cassie Hobbes has a gift for profiling people. Her talent has landed her a spot in an elite FBI program for teens with innate crime-solving abilities, and into some harrowing situations. After barely escaping a confrontation with an unbalanced killer obsessed with her mother’s murder, Cassie hopes she and the rest of the team can stick to solving cold cases from a distance.

But when victims of a brutal new serial killer start turning up, the Naturals are pulled into an active case that strikes too close to home: the killer is a perfect copycat of Dean’s incarcerated father—a man he’d do anything to forget. Forced deeper into a murderer’s psyche than ever before, will the Naturals be able to outsmart the enigmatic killer’s brutal mind games before this copycat twists them into his web for good?

With her trademark wit, brilliant plotting, and twists that no one will see coming, Jennifer Lynn Barnes will keep readers on the edge of their seats (and looking over their shoulders) as they race through the pages of this thrilling novel.

Why I am waiting?

This is a sequel to a book that I really liked, The Naturals- it got a four star review from me. I want to know how Cassie, Dean and the gang move on from the shocking ending in the last book. What ramifications occur? What happens to the program now?

Steve Teaser:

Scared of where all this was going to end, but the one thing she knew, the one thing she felt certain of was... Steve. Of how he made her fell.

Safe.
Accepted.
Cherished.
He knew her and still liked her; still wanted to be part of her life.

Eternal by CC Hunter Kindle Location 645

Chase Teaser:

"I'm not sorry that I get a chance to prove to you that you and I belong together. But don't you dare doubt that I'm sorry you're hurting. The pain in your eyes when you walked into the office, the pain you're working so hard to hide, I said it. I feel it. And for that, damn it, I'm sorry."

Eternal by CC Hunter Kindle Location 1854

Who should she pick? The one that makes her feel accepted, cherished? Or the one that knows what she is feeling? I am team Steve all the way- there is something about that shapeshifter that is yummy.

Who should she choose?

Eternal the next book in the Shadow Falls After Dark series comes out tomorrow!

One my of all time favorite authors CC Hunter posted this on her website.

A list of reasons Della should end up with Steve and reasons Della should end up with Chase.

Della should choose Steve because:

* he’s hot. And looks good in his jeans!

* he’s been so patient waiting for her to get over Lee.

* he chose to give her the transfusion that bonded her to Chase believing it could save her life, but knowing he could lose her forever.

* he saved her life on the mission and even gave her some of his blood.

* she could let herself love him so easily.

Della should choose Chase because:

* he’s hot. Mysterious and sexy.

* they are both vampire and reborns and can understand each other.

* he risked his life and was willing endure extreme pain to save her life.

* she is bonded to him, drawn to him, attracted to him.

* she could let herself love him so easily.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge Steve fan. Oh how I hope that she chooses him.  I will be okay if she doesn't, although I may send my kindle some evil death stares for a while.

He is like a boy scout- always prepared.

In response he opens the closet, pulls out a hanging bag, then tosses it onto the bed.  Two shopping bags follow.

"What's this?"  I ask.

"Emergency clothes.  By the time you get out of the shower, breakfast will be here.  You now have time."

I quickly rummage through the bags.  he's thought of everything- shoes, stockings, undergarments, classic black pantsuit, and a dove gray poplin shirt with French cuffs.

He has no shame asking for what he wants.

My cell phone vibrates announcing a new text.  Hot vampire here with cold champagne.  Awaiting your arrival.

He is understanding of the situation Emma is in.

"I am devoted to you.  I will forever remain so.  Demeter is the only one who could jeopardize that, and her ability to do so, her power to do so, is extremely restrictive."

Kallistos is not the main love interest for Emma because is is not suppose to love.  She is cursed by Demeter to never love, so it may seem weird that Emma's "friend with benefits" is my book boyfriend for the week.  Honestly, I like him more than the main love interest, Zack.

Sorry if you are seeing this one a lot today.  I am by no means on Team Zayne, but when you are only 11% into the book, you work with what you got. Besides here Zayne is being swoony, I just feel like he worries too much about what other people think.

Waiting on Wednesday (41) Fire Fall

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

In the exciting conclusion to the Dark Star trilogy, Audrey Whitticomb is faced with a tough decision: save her people from the demons known as Harrowers, or save her best friend from certain death?

Audrey Whitticomb wants to be a Guardian like her superhero mom, Morning Star, and her superhot boyfriend, Leon. But at seventeen, Audrey still hasn't been called--unlike reluctant Tink, who'd rather not deal with all those scaly-skinned, red-eyed demons.

The truth: Audrey can no longer fight her fate. She has a different role to play.

The Beneath is waking. Demons are rising. Friends are falling. And the future is waiting. Will Audrey stop the Harrowing in time to save the Kin? Or will she save her best friend, Gideon, from certain death? Can Audrey find the power and the courage to act before it's too late?

Why I am waiting?

This is another one that ends a series for me. While it is sad to read the last book of any trilogy, there is something satisfying about closing that last page. I want to know how Audrey deals with her destiny. Will she do it gracefully or kicking and screaming?

"Are you happy, Zack?" I ask. A dangerous question. One I have no right to ask.

I'm standing, my hand on the passenger door to the Suburban. he's on the driver's side, key in the lock.

'I'm not sure I ever will be. Something's missing, I don't even know what it is, but I know I want it back in the worst possible way.

"All bark and no bite," I say as the dog slinks back to the porch, tail between its legs, whimpering.

Zack grins at me. "Sometimes having a big, bad wolf on your team comes in handy."

I smile back.

If you read the first book in the series then you know what is missing. If not, get on it dog-gone-it, what are you waiting for? Siren, werewolf, witches and vamps. Need I really say more?

He knows how to pinky swear.

He arched a brow as his gaze tracked form my mouth to my eyes "Do I need to card you?"

That snapped me out of my hot-inducing stupor.  "No. Not at all.  I'm twenty-one."

"You sure?"

Heat infused my face again.  "I swear."

"Pinky swear?"

My gaze dipped to his now-extended hand and to his pinky.  "Seriously?"

He is concerned for her safety and is willing to do what it takes to make her safe.

"I want to make sure you're safe since you're staying for...however long."  He shifted slightly, tilting his head to the side as he did.  A heartbeat passed , and his eyes locked with mine.  "And being here by yourself isn't safe, so I'm going to make it safe for you."

He wants something deeper than causal.

His expression softened as he steeped forward.  "Baby, this isn't causal for me, either, and the fact you think it might be blows my mind."

"It does?"

"Honey, every signal, ever act and word I've sent in your direction from day one says this isn't causal for me,"  he said, leaning his hip against the wall.

Jax is just the the perfect boyfriend for a rainy fall day.  He is warm and protective with a hint of spice.  He is willing to challenge his gal, all the while keeping her safe.

Waiting on Wednesday (40) Waistcoats and Weaponry

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Class is back in session...
Sophronia continues her second year at finishing school in style--with a steel-bladed fan secreted in the folds of her ball gown, of course. Such a fashionable choice of weapon comes in handy when Sophronia, her best friend Dimity, sweet sootie Soap, and the charming Lord Felix Mersey stowaway on a train to return their classmate Sidheag to her werewolf pack in Scotland. No one suspected what--or who--they would find aboard that suspiciously empty train. Sophronia uncovers a plot that threatens to throw all of London into chaos and she must decide where her loyalties lie, once and for all.

Gather your poison, steel tipped quill, and the rest of your school supplies and join Mademoiselle Geraldine's proper young killing machines in the third rousing installment in the New York Timesbestselling Finishing School Series by steampunk author, Gail Carriger.

Why I am waiting?

Proper decorum, espionage, poison and of course humor. A fabulous series that reads well with hot tea and biscuits.  If you are one to judge a book by it's cover, how stunning is this one?  I adore it.

But I had to admit that Jett, for his part, was the best looking paranormal I had ever seen. Black hair and clear eyes, sometimes silver, always with large flecks of white, shone out from pale skin. He had broad shoulders, a square jaw, and a bright smile filled with mischief.

I loved the original series Paranormal Public from the start. So far this an interesting spin-off that is just perfect for the spooky month of October, especially if you aren't really into spooky.  The book does have a lot of different paranormals.

He knows that the way to a girls heart is through her brain.

“Have I ever told you how sexy your brain is?"

"Finally! A man who wants me for my brain."

"I want all of you. Each individual part and the sum of them all. I want you for everything you are and everything you will ever be. I will never have enough of you, because there's no such thing." He stared right into my eyes, and I couldn't have looked away if I'd wanted to. I was trapped, and never in my life had I been so happy to be caught. "I will never let you go again.”

~With All My Soul

He is always there for Kaylee.

“His gaze burned into mine, like he could see past my eyes into parts of me no one had ever seen, and I knew I was seeing the same in him. No one else had ever seen him so vulnerable before, like if I pushed him away, he might crumble into pieces that could never be put together again. Yet there was strength, too. He was strong beneath that fragile need, and I knew that I could never fall with him next to me. If I tripped, he would catch me. If I lost my balance, he would find it.”

~Before I Wake

He cares for Kaylee- more than she realizes.

“Kaylee, this means something to me.” His hands trailed down my arms to cup my elbows, and his gaze held mine. “With any

luck, we’re going to have millions of moments over the course of eternity, and I plan to love every one of them. But we’ll never
have this moment again, and this is very important to me.” The twists of blue in his eyes coiled so tightly the color was almost gone,
lost among pale shades of a need so deep it couldn’t possibly be captured in a kiss, or a touch.

~Before I Wake

He is romantic.

"You’re the brightest thing I’ve ever seen, Kaylee. You’re this beautiful ball of fire spitting sparks out at the world, burning fiercely, holding back the dark by sheer will. And I always knew that if I reached out—if I tried to touch you—I’d get burned. Because you’re not mine. I’m not supposed to feel the fire. I’m not supposed to want it. But I do. I want you, Kaylee, like I’ve never wanted anything. Ever. I want the fire. I want the heat, and the light, and I want the burn.”

~If I Die

There are a lot of people that were Team Nash, but Tod will always hold a special place in my heart.  When I need a pick me up there books are just what the doctor ordered, especially the scenes with Tod in them.  I love how he is with Kaylee, even when she was with Nash.

In honor of last night's Blood Moon a few swoon moments from well, Blood Moon.

“And then Lucy happened.
Never mind prophecies and bounty hunters, she was the one who'd really turned my life upside down....
She made everything better.
She was necessary.”

Here is another- this one gets me every time.

“What is it?' I whispered. 'What's wrong?'
'Everything but you,' he said hoarsely.”

Oh Nicholas Drake how do I love thee. Let me count the ways .....

1. He's a vampire.

2. He's hot.

3. He's deadly.

4. He loves Lucy without a shadow of a doubt.

5. He would do anything for her.

6. The list goes one but I have to stop at man does he know all the right things to say.

He is cautious of ruining what they have.

When his mouth first meets mine, it's hesitant, questioning. But as I move my lips with his, he quickly grows bolder, coaxing them apart.

Desire, pure and raw, electrifies my veins as his tongue sweeps my mouth.

He is protective.

Strong arms wrap around my waist, and I jump. I twist in the embrace and look up into Brandon's lifesaving green eyes. He glances around, notices the audience, and kisses the tip of my nose. "Miss me?"

"You have no idea." Taking a deep breath, I collapse against hist hard chest.

Brandon tenses, and he lifts my chin. "Is something wrong?" He looks around again. "Did somebody mess with you?"

He talks to himself.

What do I want? To go back into time and stop your stupid makeover. To stop the urge to put Polo-Boy's head through a wall. To stop fantasizing about scooping you up, dragging you back to my truck, and kissing you until you can't see straight.

Brandon is by far one of my favorite book boyfriends.  He tries so hard not to ruin what he has with Aly that he doesn't see what they can be.  He wants to protect her even from herself.  He really is perfect.

Waiting on Wednesday (39) Mortal Gods

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Ares, God of War, is leading the other dying gods into battle. Which is just fine with Athena. She's ready to wage a war of her own, and she's never liked him anyway. If Athena is lucky, the winning gods will have their immortality restored. If not, at least she'll have killed the bloody lot of them, and she and Hermes can die in peace.

Cassandra Weaver is a weapon of fate. The girl who kills gods. But all she wants is for the god she loved and lost to return to life. If she can't have that, then the other gods will burn, starting with his murderer, Aphrodite.

The alliance between Cassandra and Athena is fragile. Cassandra suspects Athena lacks the will to truly kill her own family. And Athena fears that Cassandra's hate will get them ALL killed.

The war takes them across the globe, searching for lost gods, old enemies, and Achilles, the greatest warrior the world has ever seen. As the struggle escalates, Athena and Cassandra must find a way to work together. Because if they can't, fates far worse than death await.

Why I am waiting?

This one seems like a fun read- Gods, Goddess and war.  What is not to like?  Plus, I really like the cover for this one.
