Stubborn, lethal, and from Jersey…what more could a Viking warrior want from his woman?

Neecy Lawrence, winged warrior for a Viking goddess and second-in-command of the fierce Crows, doesn’t know what to do with a nice guy. As it is, making up for a past she’d sooner forget leaves her barely polite most days. But Raven leader and loyal Odin warrior, Will Yager, isn’t just nice. He’s gorgeous, hot, and a distraction she simply can’t afford.

Yager has wanted Neecy in his life—and in his bed—for a long time. Not just for a night, but forever. And, like any self-respecting Viking, he’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants. So what if she’s the most difficult, complex, never-gives-him-a-break woman he’s ever known? She’s more than worth the effort. In fact, she’s worth everything.

And if it turns out that twenty-four hours of non-stop, any-way-she-wants-it sex doesn’t work with Neecy? Then it looks like he’ll just have to get a little more creative…

My Opinion

Skuld, a Viking goddess has female warriors to do her bidding- They are called Crows. Women who had been taken away too soon and she gave them a second chance. Some are blessed with additional powers or skills others come as they are. Neecy has the ability to call the ravens (yepper- the actual birds). Odin also has warriors called Crows who he has trained from childhood along with Valkyries (although lately they haven’t been to helpful in the fighting department). Yager is a favorite of Odin. Sometimes the Crow and Ravens work together, sometimes they don’t. Over and over again Neecy and Yager cross paths. He has finally decided to do something about it and then all hell breaks loose.

Neecy is a strong no nonsense fighter, who also fights for the underdog. She mother hens some of the newer recruits but you couldn’t tell outside the club. Not only that but she is one smart cookie. Yet, she doesn’t feel worthy of a good man. Her past haunts her more that even she knows. She doesn’t shy away from Yager but he does confuse the heck out of her.

Yager is a man on a mission. Not one from Odin- one from his heart which may mean the stakes are even higher. He is determined, and not easily swayed from his task. Neecy doesn’t rose color glasses anything for him. She is honest to a T about what she wants. Only Yager agrees and then decides nah I want more.

This is was fun read of cat and mouse. Yager being the cat and Neecy being the mouse. I loved how they bantered with each other. The support that Yager gives Neecy. Theirs’ was a slow burn until it explodes on the pages. After that it runs hot and heavy for the remainder of the book. It was nice to see a guy for a change wanting to settle down. Neecy’s confusion over what Yager wanted and her distrust of why were also entertaining.

If you need a book that is well just fun than this is the one for you. I was hoping for a series with the other members of the New Jersey Crows and Ravens but there is not next book to read as of right now.

My Rating 4 out of 5 stars
