Scandal. Wealth. Power. Seduction. Welcome to the world of the O'Malleys.

Ex-cop Charlotte Finch used to think there was a clear line between right and wrong. Then her fellow officers betrayed her, and the world is no longer so black and white. Especially when it's Aiden O'Malley, one of the most dangerous men in Boston, who offers her a chance for justice. The only catch: she'll have to pretend to be his fiancée for his plan to work.

Aiden can't afford to let anyone see the man behind the mask. To run the O'Malley empire, he has to be cool and controlled at all times. But the moment he meets Charlie, they're playing with fire. Her slightest touch is enough to send him over the edge. At first their "engagement" was a way to eliminate his enemies. Now he'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe-- even if he has to destroy his own family to do it.

My Opinion

I adored this series, when this book came out though, I had just had a baby and was not reading at all. The first three months were spent with her, and adjusting. It was on auto-delivery and when I finally started reading again it got buried in my kindle. I completely forget about it until one day when I was like ummm... when is Aiden’s story going to come out. So I looked it up on goodreads and it was already here. So off to Amazon I go to one-click and it said it was already purchased. Score! I was totally excited looked on the kindle and it was there. I quickly became emerged in the O’Malley mobster life and boy am I glad.

The O’Malley family along with two other Irish Mobster Families rule Boston. The alliances between the three families is hard won and to be honest hang on by a thread. Families have been betrayed, members have switched sides, and manipulation is the name of the game.

Aiden is the hard nose leader of the family and the family business. A year and a half ago, his daddy stepped down from his position of leader and passed it on to Aiden. With all the family drama going on it has been a really long hard 18 months. His only purpose is to save his family, even it means that his siblings hate him- at least they are safe and still alive.

His little sister, Keira, is on the marriage chopping block, about to be sacrificed for the good of the family name, thanks to good ole dad. Aiden isn’t backing down, he will save her even if it means he has to get revenge with the help of a former cop, with ties to the FBI. He just didn’t count on the mutual attraction that would pop up between him and Charlotte. Charlie and Aiden also share a mutual hatred and need for revenge for Dmitri Romanov.

Charlie has tried her whole life to gain the respect and love of her father, the head of the FBI mobster task force. When she is wrongfully accused of being a bad cop, and kicked off the force she knows she has lost the love and respect that was growing in her father’s heart. That hurt her more than when the other cops beat her in an alley. So when Aiden approaches her for help in his plan for revenge she is all for it.

Aiden and Charlie go together as much as sugar goes with hot tea. Perfectly. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. More importantly they both understand each other and why they do what they do. She understands the various masks that he has to play and he understands her need for space. I loved Charlie even more because of her concern for Keira, the friendship that develops between these two is pretty awesome.

Witnessing Aiden fall in love, and his care for Charlie remade this character for me and allowed me to see him in a new light. Before he was the jerk older brother that was ruthless. Here he becomes the ruthless leader who falls in love with someone who is equal. Someone who gives as good as she takes.

I love this series. There really is not much more to say about it. Each story is a different sibling and how they react to the things that are happening to their family. The love they have for each other is pretty amazing, so is the respect they have for each other. Even though not a single one of them can show it to the others. I promise if you are looking for a good mobster series this is the one for you.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars
