Print Length 299 pages

Torn between duty and survival, nothing can be the same.

Everything Ivy Morgan thought she knew has been turned on its head. After being betrayed and then nearly killed by the Prince of the Fae, she’s left bruised and devastated—and with an earth-shattering secret that she must keep at all costs. And if the Order finds out her secret, they’ll kill her.

Then there’s Ren Owens, the sexy, tattooed Elite member of the Order who has been sharing Ivy’s bed and claiming her heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but Ivy knows that Ren has always valued his duty to the Order above all else—he could never touch her if he knew the truth. That is, if he let her live at all. Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?

But as the Fae Prince begins to close in, intent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld, Ivy is running out of options. If she doesn’t figure out who she can trust—and fast—it’s not only her heart that will be torn apart, but civilization itself.

My Opinion

***Spoilers for Wicked!!! You have been warned****

Torn picks up where wicked ended, literally. As in right where it ended as this doesn’t normally happen in books it was a nice surprise. Ivy just found out she was the hybrid everyone and the fae is hunting. Her bestie Val has betrayed the Order, the same Order that her boyfriend Ren is an elite member of. Tink, the brownie living in her apartment is the only one who knows what she is. The fae prince is looking to knock her up and she just wants to curl up in the fetal position to cry. Atlas, life will not give her that. Tink’s advice- tell no one and run. Run as far as you can. Ivy is not the backing down kinda gal though.

Ivy is still the strong, independent gal we loved in Wicked. Her world has been rocked to nuclear portions. She found out she is what she has been protecting the world against all her life. She was almost killed and yet she still goes out and hunts the bad guys. Gotta hand it to the gal, putting on your big girl panties and dealing is her thing.

Ren is well just as swoon-rific as always. There was a scene where I was like what the heck Ren, but after that I got back to wanting to hug him again. His relationship with Tink was even better than his relationship with Ivy. Their loving to hate each other is pretty sweet.

Speaking of Tink, he makes this book. 100% stills the show. I am not sure if he is even trying to do it but he does. Between his amazon obsession to his fan-guying over all the right shows you just have to love him. Not only that but his rational for all of his decisions is pretty spot on. He works as a bestie because that is what he feels in his heart.

The trials that Ivy goes through in this book would have broken a lesser person. What she faces and the way her world is rocked is a lot. She goes with the punches and it was just the right book for me.

Torn is a great sequel. It has the right amount of action, romance and friendship to keep you wondering when the next book will be released.

My Rating 4 out of 5 stars
