Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
From Kiera Cass, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Selection series, comes a sweeping stand-alone fantasy romance.
A girl with a secret.
The boy of her dreams.
An Ocean between them.
Years ago, Kahlen was rescued from drowning by the Ocean. To repay her debt, she has served as a Siren ever since, using her voice to lure countless strangers to their deaths. Though a single word from Kahlen can kill, she can’t resist spending her days on land, watching ordinary people and longing for the day when she will be able to speak and laugh and live freely among them again.
Kahlen is resigned to finishing her sentence in solitude...until she meets Akinli. Handsome, caring, and kind, Akinli is everything Kahlen ever dreamed of.
Falling in love with a human breaks the Ocean’s rules. But for the first time in a lifetime of following the rules, Kahlen is determined to follow her heart
It is really hard to find a good siren story- it is one of the paranormal species that has yet to be tapped into. Plus, could you imagine not being able to speak for fear of killing someone with the sound of your voice?

Pretty intrigued with this one as her first series didn't really interest me. Haven't read a "siren" book in ages!

I'm not sure about this one... Did you know she actually released this one BEFORE The Selection?? I saw it on her Goodreads years ago! I'll probably pick it up though!

Reminds me a little of the Little Mermaid, but with a darker twist to it. I haven't read many siren books, but this one sounds good. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHaven't really read a book like this, but I do love the sound of it! Definitely intriguing! And I love that cover!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this one to come out either! It sounds so amazing and I've loved Kiera's past pieces.

I actually featured this on my last week's WoW. I am super excited to get my hand on this one. Great choice! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Kiera Cass fan but I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Have a fantastic week, Angela. :)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I have read nothing by Kiera Cass yet. This definitely seems a little different. I'll be watching out for its release.
ReplyDeleteI've this book on my wishlist too. I have read "The Selection" (America's story only) and I enjoyed it. Hopefully this will be a good siren story - as you mentioned, is really difficult to find a good one.
ReplyDeleteHappy readings! ;)
Such a pretty cover. This one sounds good. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick! I've only read the first one but I definitely want to get to this one.
