They are the outcasts of humanity. Blessed with power. Cursed by fate. Driven by passion. The Sentinels have returned. . .

Out Of The Shadows

At six-foot-three and two-hundred-fifty pounds, Fane is a natural born guardian. A flawless mix of muscled perfection and steely precision, he has devoted years of his life to protecting a beautiful necromancer. But after she found love in the arms of another, Fane has been a warrior adrift. He swears allegiance only to the Sentinels. And no woman will ever rule his heart again. . .

Into The Fire

Not only a powerful psychic, Serra is that rare telepath who can connect to minds through objects. When the daughter of a high-blood businessman is kidnapped, Serra agrees to help. But when she stumbles onto a conspiracy involving secrets sects and ancient relics, her life is in mortal danger--and Fane is her only hope. Is the warrior willing to risk his body, his soul, and his heart, for Serra? Or will one last betrayal destroy them both?

My Opinion

Serra is a psychic of unparallel abilities, Fane a Sentinel who holds her in his heart but never in his arms. After the events of Out for Blood Fane has been dealing with his broken bond the best way he knows how- by asking for a transfer. He does this without telling Serra, so it makes sense that she is spitting mad. At least it would make sense if they were together but Fane won’t allow that due to some internal personal issues. After she confronts him she vows she is done- done with Fane. If he can’t man-up and deal with what is between them well enough is enough.

Unfortunately a child is kidnapped and one powerful highblood will stop at nothing to find his daughter. Serra is mind-knapped and taken by the high-blood: wither she helps him or she dies.

Fane worried for Serra hunts her down. He has vowed to do all he can to stop her impeding death. All she wants is his heart not his pity. But when he is finally willing to give it will she accept it.

Serra is a hoot of a character. Not afraid to speak her mind and always willing to help. Even though she has poison running in her veins she keeps a positive attitude and does her best to find Molly in time. Fane is an alpha male on a short leash. He clashes with Bass since he has threated the woman he loves. He knows he has to protect Serra all the while convincing her it is not too late for them.

Will they find Molly in time? Will Bass give them the antidote? Will they both admit their love for one another?

Blood Assassin is an enjoyable read. So much so th
at I went back and read the other books in the series. Serra and Fane are easy to relate to and while Bass seems like a bad guy the reality is he would do anything to protect his daughter.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Favorite Quote “If anyone enters Serra’s rooms without my permission, they’ll die. If anyone tries to plant a listening or camera device in her room, they’ll die. If anyone tries to separate me from her side, they’ll die.”
