You reap what you sow...

Saying Nate Grimm has a dark past is an understatement. Fortunately, no one's bothered to look too closely at the Fairytale Management Authority's lead detective and part-time Reaper. And that's the way Nate wants to keep it. For after centuries of torment and loneliness, he's finally found happiness with the hot and hard-charging love of his life, Tess "Red" Little.

Of course, his love for Tess is the reason there's a posse of Reaper judges after him, led by a sadistic bastard acquainted with Nate from once upon a time. Now, Tess will pay the price for Nate's transgressions unless Nate severs his ties to the transplanted Tales--and Tess--forever. His enemy has the advantage in speed, malice and brutality. But the Reapers have underestimated the depth of Nate's love and devotion. And the fury of his wrath. . .

My Opinion

We met and fell in love with Nate Grimm and Tess Little in the first Transplanted Tale story Red. We saw snippets of their life together in the two books that follow The Better to See You and Along Came a Spider. Have you ever wondered what happened after the happily ever after? Does the happily-ever-after stick? Or do they break-up due to the stress of the job? Or maybe they break-up because one of them hated the way the other chewed their food- hey it could happen.

Grimm Consequences occurs a few months after Red ends and several months before The Better to See You begins. For the first time we get to see the story being told through Nate’s point of view. Oh what a view it is. The novella is one hundred pages of perfect alpha male strength, courage and the wrath a man wronged. Nate’s love of Tess is shining throughout the novella, as is his guilt for keeping his past secret. Too bad his past catches up to them. Nate is afraid that if Tess finds out about his true nature she will no longer want him (silly Nate). Unfortunately, it is only his true nature that can save her.

Demetrius is a Reaper who has gone rouge- and with him several other Reapers who get to pass judgment on Nate. Something to do with a witch and how Nate kinda ended her. Hey, he is a Reaper for crying out loud. Nate interfered which means now he must be punished. However, Demetrius punishment is not done to Nate but instead to Tess. Nate does what only he can
do to save her- he brings on the Death.

Excellent continuation of Nate and Tess’ story. A must read for all those NateTess shippers! This had me falling in love with the couple all over again. The story has me captivated from the first to the last page.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Favorite Quote “I am the Death Bringer,” I snarled. “I plan to live up to my name.”
