You may have read a novella of this series in The Way of the Warrior. If you did then you would understand. I need to know what is going on with the Dawson brothers- about as much as I need air. Kate had done it again with this series, sucking you into her world- turning your own upside down.

But when word of their surprise conception gets out, the fur hits the fan. There are people who don't want this baby to be born—even if it means killing. Now Bennett and Linc aren't just fighting each other . . . they're fighting for their lives.

My Opinion

We are introduced to Bennett and Linc in Take It Like A Vamp. They were both the besties of the main characters. Baby's Got Bite is their story. At Nick and Casey’s wedding they hook up, a little bit late Bennett gets sick. As her illness does not go away she starts to think about when her last period was- then the dreaded drive to buy a test or maybe ten. This of course leads to a positive test, a few more taken and all of them positive. Okay so here is the deal, Linc is a werewolf. They can’t get humans pregnant. So it would stand to reason that Bennett is not a human, like she and everyone else believes. She never did know her daddy. Which is why she has total boy issues.

Linc of course steps up to the plate and goes with the flow. He lives in a dangerous world and he knows that Bennett and the baby has to be protected. Protected from whom is the real question though- her family, his family, their enemies. The hits come from all sides.

I like that Bennett is a strong gal. She is not afraid to voice her opinion. Nor does she need a man in her life. She just wants her baby to know her daddy- since she did not know hers. Linc for his part seriously gets mad props for not once questioning Bennett. She says the baby is his, he believes her (even when werewolves can’t get humans pregnant). He moves her into his place due to the danger that they are in now that they are connected to him. He really is with Bennett every step of the way.

Their relationship builds throughout the book. This is no insta-love tale. But instead a love that grows from a mutual connection. Pregnancy in this world does not last nine months- way shorter! Wooohooo for Bennett!

Baby Got’s Bite is an easy entertaining read. Hopefully, there will be more books to read from this world.

With the convergence date looming closer, Abigail’s in the final countdown to imprison the Seventine. It is do-or-die time, and she is determined that the Seventine will be the ones who die, figuratively speaking. Her current priorities: gather the Dronish half-Walker female and reform her melding bond with Brace.

Dronish is a world more alien than any other Abigail has ventured through, which is really saying something. But it’s also a dying land. The inhabitants are running out of energy and there’s little hope for their survival. Of course, that makes it very hard to convince Sapha – the half-Walker – that she should help save the star system. If her world is doomed already, she doesn’t care much about the rest.

Okay, task one is going to be tougher than Abigail anticipated, but at least reforming the bond should be easy … right? Of course, that was before she met with the lalunas. Now she knows that both items on her to-do list have jumped right into the realm of impossible.

My Opinion

Dronish is the name of the planet that the half-walker Sapha lives on. Sapha’s world is vastly different than that of the other half-walkers. The residents here fed off the energy of others, primarily that of crystals that grow on the planet. The crystals are scarce, and the residents had to go to the market place once a week to get his nourishment. Like all of the other half-walkers Sapha is different from those around her, she does not need the crystals to survive. When Sapha’s one friend is murder she is hell bent on revenge.

Back on First World, Lucy and Colton just held their mating ceremony. Abigail wants to go to the lalunas to reform her bond with Brace. Something goes horribly wrong, the lalunas are not what they seem. Some are good and some are well evil. Abigail will be betrayed by someone that she loves dearly. That which she thought was neutral had picked a side, too bad it is the one opposite of her.

The War Council is unsure how to proceed. Abigail and the gang still have to go to Dronish to find Sapha. When they get there, they discover that the Drones were in the middle of a civil war. When they finally find Sapha, well things don’t go so easy. Abigail has to trace Sapha to First World- this does not make her trust the gals at all.

Abigail and Brace are as cute as ever in this installment of the series. The other Half-Walkers are learning to trust and depend on themselves. They are working together with their powers and growing. Lucy and Colton are added fun, for sidekicks they really kick butt.

Dronish is a solid addition to a great series. It’s has it all- action, romance, mystery along with a side of the paranormal (sci-fi). My only complaint is that Earth the final book in the series is not already released.

My Opinion

Adorable read! Must have for those days you feel blah and want a pick me up!

Alice’s sister is getting married on a cruise ship, to her ex-fiancés brother. She can’t go alone since her ex will be there. So she asks Noah to go with her. Noah needs to skip out of town for a few days to avoid well the vampire councils edict of marriage. So he agrees to go. Little does he know that Alice just might steal his heart.

Alice is adorable- seriously there is no other word for her. She doesn’t want her ex back. She is okay with them breaking up, she just doesn’t want to look pathetic to everyone at the wedding. Her ex is a piece of work. One that I am hoping Noah will take care of and boy does he. Noah is such a gentleman! He so wants to protect Alice from all the wrongs in the world. He even tries to protect her from himself. We all know how that is going to work out.

The book is told from alternative sides so if you tend to avoid that here is your warning. However in this case it does not take away from the story.

This is a prefect read for those of us who want to escape for a few hours into a book that is just happy, light.

Rage rolled through him at the sight of the pretty boy staring at Alice. And when he touched her, Noah wanted to do more than just step between them.

It wasn't so much the look on the man's face, and not even the possessive way he'd touched her- although that made Noah want to tear his hand off- it was Alice's reaction to the man that made his hands clench at his sides in an effort not to hit her ex.

She looked smaller, somehow.

Out Sick

Sorry y'all! A nasty illness hit all four kids starting with our youngest two- Wednesday and Friday.  Now our oldest two have been hit with it- Saturday and Sunday.  Man, having sick kids makes for no blogging time.  Hopefully sterilizing the house tomorrow will help us to the road of recovery.  Once the kids are finally all better I will be back to The Reading Cave faster than you can open a book.

My Opinion

Dr. Jason Ayers is hiding a secret- one even bigger than the fact that he is a werewolf. His secret is so big that it ends up hurting his relationship with his twin brother. His secret, he is angry so very angry. As a doctor he is suppose to be able to save his people. Except for the whole he can’t treat them at a real hospital. He lost his alpha under his care, his dad is in a coma under his care and his stress level is hello kitty high. So what does a frustrated werewolf do to relieve his stress- join an underground fight club.

Jason is not the only one with secrets, Kilani has them too. Kilani is the nurse that helped Jason treat his dad. She is hiding from Nero, the pack enemy. She confronts Jason about not filling out the right paperwork for the drugs they used to save his daddy. He is stunned, after they touch to find that she is his mate. He doesn’t really believe in the whole mating is destined with makes for a fun time. Nero is fast on Kilani steps though. Will she trust Jason enough to save her?

Harvest Moon is a great addition to a solid series. Jason is pretty much an amazing guy who doesn’t know how to handle that sometimes a patient will die. No matter how good of a doctor he is. Kilani has a history of dating doctors- a bad history of it. She has decided that they aren’t worth it, although Jason does try to prove her wrong at every turn. I love that Jason doesn’t believe in mates until he meets Kilani. He is extremely protective of Kilani also which is pretty awesome. Her insecurities a little got on my nerves. I realize that it was because of the past but yeah, still annoying. The merging of Kilani’s Hawaiian heritage and Jason’s Pack was interesting. While some questions were answered a lot more left unanswered. Hopefully the next book will give the read more resolution.
