On Aug. 13, 2012 Valerie and Kathy announced a blog
hop- on in which the blogger got to share a book that they just could not put
down. Immediately, I knew I had to sign
up.
Over the summer I had read this
lovely vampire series called the Drake Chronicles. It was amazing- the vampires did not shine or
sparkle. They could not go out in the
sun. They actually well, as soon as the
sun began to rise- the younger vamps would pass out. How amazing is that? And some of the vampires lived the first 16
years of their lives as humans. This is
how a human, Lucy and a vampire princess, Solagne, become best friends. Lucy literally grew up with the Drake
family. That is why she is almost immune
to their vampy powers. I absolutely adore Lucy. Her can do attitude is fabulous. As is her ability to wait until the crisis is over to cry. There is very little snarkiness in this series- which is kinda nice for a YA novel.
Seriously though- this is one of the best series I have ever read. I wanted to share it with my followers. What better way to do that than a giveaway!

ReplyDeleteAnywhere. Honestly, it doesn't matter where I read as long as I CAN read. More often than not, I read on my couch snuggled up with my dogs. But seriously, anywhere works. I am happy reading, so I try to take advantage of any situation that will possibly work to have a book in my hand!

ReplyDeleteI love reading anywhere however my new favorite place has become on my front porch (I never had a front porch until last month). I'll sit there and read until it becomes too dark to see (or sit in the hammock) then I revert back to the couch

ReplyDeleteI actually get most of my reading done at work during lunch and when I’m stuck answering phones in the afternoon. But, if I have the time I’ll head over to the Crooked Tree Coffeehouse, get a bottomless cup of coffee, and camp out in a chair by the window or out on the patio if the weather is nice. I’ve probably consumed more caffeine in that café than is healthy for me.

ReplyDeleteI have a wide hallway conjoining my bedroom and office area that I call the library since that is where all my bookshelves are. Anyway, there is a ledge in the room that I like to read on. I set up some pillows and a cushion, its pretty comfy ^^
