This is the last book in this series and I of course want to see how it ends. It also helps to set up the next series by Cecy, which I of course will be standing in line for.

I absolutely loved Duncan and Callie. Callie faces so much racism in this book for being a high-blood. Duncan realizes it early on and tries to protect her from the main evil and all the little aches and bruises one gets with life. I read this series out of order but I liked the interaction between Fan and Serra as well.

His jaw was strong, with a faint shadow of stubble, his shoulders broad but not too much so, hips narrow. he was on the tall side, a bit over six feet, built lean, like the panther he was. Jet-black hair fell in long, messy layers to his shoulders, and she thought he'd look right at home with an electric guitar slung low at his waist.

He is one powerful sorcerer.

Kalen harnessed the fury of the storm, took it into himself, and released it in an explosion that lit the sky as thought it were a brilliant summer day.

Hmmm... Kalen is an interesting guy. He does not feel that he deserves love yet cannot help but fall in love with Mac. Mac for her part is wary and supportive of him. She knows a little of his background which helps her to stand by her man.

Bullets, knives, and bombs were pretty straight forward- a soldier knows what to expect and who's wielding them. Fangs, claws, and flesh-eating venom? Not so much.

I apparently have a new shifters series that I am loving. This is Val's fault- you see she highlighted Cole's Redemption on her blog and I just had to check it out. I realized that Primal Law was the first book in the series and bought it right away. I am so glad I did cause Jaxon and Kira are all kinds of awesomeness together.
