She finishes fiddling with the flowers and shrugs. "I just wanted you to know I'm not always in Carhartt coveralls and work boots. Or hoodies and yoga pants. I do clean up pretty well."

Review: Guardian of Secrets (Library Jumpers #2)

Author Brenda Drake
Format e-ARC
Print Length 400 pages
Publisher Entangled Teen
Published February 7, 2017

Being a Sentinel isn’t all fairytales and secret gardens.

Sure, jumping through books into the world’s most beautiful libraries to protect humans from mystical creatures is awesome. No one knows that better than Gia Kearns, but she could do without the part where people are always trying to kill her. Oh, and the fact that Pop and her had to move away from her friends and life as she knew it.

And if that isn’t enough, her boyfriend, Arik, is acting strangely. Like, maybe she should be calling him “ex,” since he’s so into another girl. But she doesn’t have time to be mad or even jealous, because someone has to save the world from the upcoming apocalypse, and it looks like that’s going to be Gia.

Maybe. If she survives.

My Opinion

Guardians of Secrets starts off several weeks after Thief of Lies ends. Gia, her daddy and her channeling Diedre have moved away from New York City. They are in hiding. Nick’s family has moved as well. Both are having trouble with everything that happened in Thief of Lies. Gia has no clue how to act around Diedre, Nick is just having a bad time with everything- at least they have each other. As they learn the ropes of being a Sentinels, they are also on a secret mission to find the remaining Chiavis.

This puts Gia at odds with Arik as he things she is being reckless. These two start off strong, but then Arik pulls away. He acts completely opposite of the Arik we know and liked in Thief of Lies. So much so that I was wishing he would just go away. Bastien shows up in defense of Gia and Nick (yeah even in YA novels there is politics). It helps that he is willing to give Gia her space even though they are bethrothed. When Gia gets in over her head, he is the one to come to her rescue time and time again.

Gia grows in this book so much so that I forgot that it was the second book in the series. She becomes more- both physically and mentally. It was refreshing. Emotionally she goes through a lot, especially at the hands of Arik. Instead of wallowing in self-pity she puts on her big gal pants and deals. I no longer ship Arik and Gia together. You will understand why that ship sailed when you read this one. I am not totally sold on team Bastien yet either. More just team take some time and maybe give Bastien a chance.

I am worried about Nick, especially with what we have learned. Hid anger may just consume him. I hope he doesn’t go over to the dark side.

Guardians of Secrets is a fun continuation of a great series. The characters welcome you back with open arms and smiling faces- even the evil ones.

Review: Domination

Author Imogen Rose
Format e-book
Print Length 288 pages
Publisher Wild Thorn Publishing
Published Jan. 14, 2017

Years of hard work preceded her entry to the Oval Office. She attended the right prep schools and right colleges. She made sure to make all the right contacts, ingratiating herself into the right circles. But all those rights hadn’t been enough.

In the end, she’d needed her mother.

And now it was time to repay that debt.

My Opinion

For two years, I have impatiently waited for the next book in the Bonfire Chronicles. I love being in Cordelia and Faustine’s world. Both demon princesses (although Faustine is half human), both synched to wanderer’s (synched is like being mated). At the end of Retaliation, Cordelia is given two surprises at once. Jagger’s mom the Queen of the Beyond is demanding their presence in the Beyond- the reason for this sudden request is that Cordelia is pregnant (yeah, she didn’t know). Not only are these two swept into the drama of Jagger’s momma, there are a lot of worries about how to deal with their hybrid baby’s pre-natal care.

Faustine’s life is not drama free either. She is fighting being synched as it doesn’t follow with her human side of being in love. Ryker is tying to be supportive and not pushy but he is secretly panicking on the inside. Then President Miller, Katerina’s daughter kidnaps Lady Annabel (Faustine’s momma). Rescuing her puts her and her daddy the Demon King of London at odds with GRIP, the supernatural governing police.

Romantic swagger is gone in Jagger, instead he bows down to his mom and put Cordelia and their baby in danger. What the what? Book after book he has been all about Cordelia and saving her and then this happens? You make the reader fall for him and right now I want to face punch him talk about an emotional rollercoaster. There were no swoony moments, just annoying I hate you being weak moments. Man-up dude and act like the Jagger we know and love.

Then we have Faustine pushing Ryker away after all they have been through, to say I am annoyed doesn’t even come close. I trust that the author is putting us through this emotional rollercoaster for a reason.

Domination brings us back the world of the Bonfire Chronicles. It was nice to be back, even with the changes in well everything it felt like. As annoyed as I am, I still can’t wait for the next installment hopefully it will all come together beautifully.

Review: Windwitch

Author Susan Dennard
Format e-book
Print Length 400 pages
Publisher Tor Teen
Published Jan. 10, 2017

Sometimes our enemies are also our only allies…

After an explosion destroys his ship, the world believes Prince Merik, Windwitch, is dead. Scarred yet alive, Merik is determined to prove his sister’s treachery. Upon reaching the royal capital, crowded with refugees, he haunts the streets, fighting for the weak—which leads to whispers of a disfigured demigod, the Fury, who brings justice to the oppressed.

When the Bloodwitch Aeduan discovers a bounty on Iseult, he makes sure to be the first to find her—yet in a surprise twist, Iseult offers him a deal. She will return money stolen from him, if he locates Safi. Now they must work together to cross the Witchlands, while constantly wondering, who will betray whom first?

After a surprise attack and shipwreck, Safi and the Empress of Marstok barely escape with their lives. Alone in a land of pirates, every moment balances on a knife’s edge—especially when the pirates’ next move could unleash war upon the Witchlands.

My Opinion

***Spoilers from Truthwitch***

Truthwitch ends with Prince Merik, Safi, and Iseult being separated. Safi, a prisoner to the Empress of Marstok. Iseult desperately trying to get to her threadsister. Prince Merik attempting to prevent his sister from destroying their kingdom.

Windwitch starts off with a bang or two as soon as you open the pages. Our heroes are in trouble and without each other to have their backs. Just like Truthwitch, Windwitch is told in multiple points of view. Each view point happening simotamoysly to each other, yet miles and miles apart. This made for the story to drag a bit. In Truthwitch, Safi and Prince Merik’s chemistry kept my romantic heart afloat, not so much in Windwitch. Isuelt and Aeduan steal the show here. It was not hard for them to do so as they spend most of the book together.

Merik under goes a transformation in Windwitch, both emotionally and physically as he is savagely burned. His kingdom in mourning as he is for his threadbrother. He becomes the Fury, a mythical being who avenges those who were wrong. He believes that his sister wanted to assassinate him and sets out to prove it. The emotional distress he goes through will be enough to bring tears to your eyes. He is not the only one to go through tough times. Safi and the empress are also attacked then captured by Hell-Bards. They soon find that all is not as it seems and must come to ally with individuals they would rather not.

Safi and Merik, whom Iseult saw threads form have no interaction in this book. Hello… threads that bind. What the what? I will throw the book if there develops a love triangle since there should not be one. Don’t have the reads buy in to threads if you are going to forget them.

The best thing about this book was Aeduan and Isuelt. Their interactions, the deal, their give and take. This is a slow burning romance, a very slow building one. So slow I did not even get sun burn. At least there was a burn, again the disconnect between Merik and Safi got to me.

Windwitch was interesting. I loved being back in the world that Truthwitch exposed me to. I loved being back with the characters that made me want to read more fantasy novels. I hated the lack of connections between those characters. While their friends were never far from their minds, Windwitch was missing the key element that Truthwitch gave us….relationships.

My heart thundered in my chest when he parted my lips with his tongue. The warmth of his mouth tasted like berries. "You ate my berries," I protested around his tongue.

"Hush," he said against my lips. "I've waited a long time for this."

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. Every nip, suck, and kiss, gentle, and full of passion. It felt good to let go. To forget. Forget where we were. Forget the dangers. Forget Arik's rejection.

Review: Some Kind of Magic

Author Mary Ann Malowe
Format e-ARC
Print Length 304 pages
Publisher Kensington Publishing
Published January 31, 2017

In this sparkling debut novel, Mary Ann Marlowe introduces a hapless scientist who's swept off her feet by a rock star—but is it love or just a chemical reaction?...

Biochemist Eden Sinclair has no idea that the scent she spritzed on herself before leaving the lab is designed to enhance pheromones. Or that the cute, grungy-looking guy she meets at a gig that evening is Adam Copeland. As in the Adam Copeland international rock god and object of lust for a million women. Make that a million and one. By the time she learns the truth, she s already spent the (amazing, incredible) night in his bed

Suddenly Eden, who's more accustomed to being set up on disastrous dates by her mom, is going out with a gorgeous celebrity who loves how down-to-earth and honest she is. But for once, Eden isn't being honest. She can't bear to reveal that this overpowering attraction could be nothing more than seduction by science. And the only way to know how Adam truly feels is to ditch the perfume—and risk being ditched in turn

Smart, witty, and sexy, Some Kind of Magic is an irresistibly engaging look at modern relationships why we fall, how we connect, and the courage it takes to trust in something as mysterious and unpredictable as love.

My Opinion

Eden is a biochemist lab assistant, who is saving money to get her PhD. On the weekends, she is her brother’s number one fan- he is a rising grunge singer. So much so that she often ditches her friends to help him sell merchandise or harmonize on stage with him. One such a night a cute grungy looking guy hits on her, little does she know it is Adam Copeland- this year’s hottest star. Too bad a few hours earlier one of the doctors at her company used her on a test subject, one where the vial of perfume was supposed to cause insta-lust. When it didn’t work that meant that is was a dud and Eden got to keep it. She liked the scent and had no clue what the perfume was supposed to do. Atlas, when she finds out she has her answer- Adam liked her because of science. Adam isn’t too sold on the old science excuse though.

Eden is cute. She is a scientist who totally flaunts her brains. She isn’t afraid to be smart and wears it like a badge of honor. The only think I didn’t like about her was how much she hated her job. She seriously hated the 9 to 5 aspect of it. Yet she craved the stability of it. Which is the 9 to 5 aspect of it. Now you see why I didn’t like this part of her personality. They conflicted way too much.

Adam is sweet. He understands that his job comes with very little privacy. He tries to shelter Eden from that but that goes horribly wrong. He is protective of his friends and mentors her brother. He is even adorable with his fans. Yet, when conflict came about he was very quick to push Eden away. This was a bit of a let down, I expected more from him.

Some Kind of Magic is a cute fast read. I was looking for an easy escape that was completely uncomplicated. I got that with this one. Can’t help but wonder if Stacy or Micah will get their own book.

My Rating 4 out of 5 stars

Review: Trust

Author Jana Aston
Format e-book
Print Length 193 pages

Published No. 8, 2016

“Knock knock!”
“Um… Who’s there?”

Yeah. That was me, on my last date. Before you feel sorry for me
you should know that I was the one telling the jokes. Jokes as in
plural, because I didn’t stop with just one. Of course not.

Hi, I’m Chloe Scott. The most awkward single girl in the city.
But I’m going to get it together. I am.

I’m going to learn how to date like a grown up.
I’m going to have an orgasm not given to myself.
I’m going to fall in love and live happily ever after.

Right after I get out of this interrogation room.

My Opinion

Chloe Scott is a socially inept elementary school teacher. Sure she gets along great with her second graders. Men her own age, not so much. So she starts to use an app to find dates, only the ones that she meets are just wrong. Boyd Gallagher is the FBI agent who happens to arrest her. He also happens to be one of her bff’s long lost brothers.

Boyd is adorable. He recognizes right away that Chloe has social anxiety issues when she is in awkward for her situations. He works around them, picking up on her tells and diffusing the situation before she starts to panic. He tries to elevate any stressor so that Chloe doesn’t run away from what is building between them.

Chloe is well…how to put this nicely…clueless. She is great in the classroom. Outside it not so much. Her friends find her endearing. They rally behind her and push her towards new experiences. She attempts new things- just freezes when it becomes something that is not familiar to her. Boyd comes in like a sniper to steal her heart.

I liked this one way more than the first book in the series. This is an adult book, so be forewarned about some of the scenes. The character growth and the development of the relationship was more natural than before.

My Rating 3 out of 5 stars

Waiting on Wednesday (3) Long May She Reign

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

The Girl of Fire and Thorns meets The Queen of the Tearling in this thrilling fantasy standalone about one girl’s unexpected rise to power.

Freya was never meant be queen. Twenty third in line to the throne, she never dreamed of a life in the palace, and would much rather research in her laboratory than participate in the intrigues of court. However, when an extravagant banquet turns deadly and the king and those closest to him are poisoned, Freya suddenly finds herself on the throne.

Freya may have escaped the massacre, but she is far from safe. The nobles don’t respect her, her councillors want to control her, and with the mystery of who killed the king still unsolved, Freya knows that a single mistake could cost her the kingdom – and her life.

Freya is determined to survive, and that means uncovering the murderers herself. Until then, she can’t trust anyone. Not her advisors. Not the king’s dashing and enigmatic illegitimate son. Not even her own father, who always wanted the best for her, but also wanted more power for himself.

As Freya’s enemies close in and her loyalties are tested, she must decide if she is ready to rule and, if so, how far she is willing to go to keep the crown.

Why am I waiting?

Did you see the cover? Did you read the blurb? 23rd in line and she inherits the throne…. Very excited about this one.

SPOILER ALERT Book 2

When Aurora found out that the vampires were after her blood to procreate, she thought she knew her mission. Take out the vampires and live happily ever after with Kai and their pack. But when the witches discover something about her, everything changes. Maybe Aurora doesn’t have as much control over her fate as she thought and sometimes allies become enemies. Aurora and Kai must defy all odds if their future is to end in happiness.

My Opinion

Devi, the second book in the Matefinder series picks up where Matefinder ends. Aurora is hunted by the vampires for her blood. The vamps want little vampy babies too, it is only fair. She is also exploring her witchery side. Here she finds that is not only is special because is a witch vampire hybrid, but she has two affinities. This means that she is a Devi, a person who serves as a host to an angel with a purpose.

The emotional detachment of Kai and Aurora was too much for me. There is still no chemistry. The best swoon I could find was the one I posted on Thursday about a kitten. I mean come on give the reader some romance, some tension, something.

I tried, with this series. I continued because the second book had a lot of great reviews and again I liked the book that she co-authored Queen Heir. Clearly, it is me and not the book. Kai was so lacking as an alpha that anytime he came on the page I rolled my eyes. I got that Aurora is his mate but show a little backbone man. Tell her no, every once in a while and mean it.

Review: Matefinder

Author Leia Stone
Format e-book
Print Length 296 pages
Publisher Indigo House Publishing
Published Dec. 24, 2014
Werewolves, facing the threat of extinction, desperately seek their mates to bear young. Aurora, a human far removed from the supernatural world, is nearing her own end after being fatally injured in a car accident.

Kai, an Alpha werewolf, lurks in the nearby trees watching her bleed out. He chooses to save her the only way he knows how, by changing her. No one is prepared for what happens next. The tides turn in favor of the werewolves. The Matefinder has been found, and she is more powerful than anybody ever imagined. But is she prepared to be the most hunted werewolf in history?

My Opinion

Aurora, a domestic abuse survivor, is in a fatal accident. Kia, the alpha of the local werewolf pack, happens upon the accident within minutes of her dying. He decides to change her. Changed werewolves all have powers and Aurora’s is that of matefinder. Only through a mate bond can werewolves have babies which is why their species is dying, modern technology has made finding your mate difficult. As Aurora has visions of where the unmated wolves mate is she can help the werewolves, due to a balance is she is also the way for vampires to procreate. Drinking her blood will make a female vampire fertile.

Aurora was annoying. Her easy acceptance of werewolves, witches and vampires oh my was a little unbelievable. Umm… hello…her world just got turned upside down… where is her reaction. Oh right… there is none. She accepts all the changes to her life as if it was no thing but a chicken wing, barely batting an eye. She shows no true emotion, ever except when it came to someone telling her what to do- she automatically did the opposite.

Kia, her mate and the alpha of the pack is well….not enough. He isn’t swoony enough, not alpha enough- he was just lacking. I love the idea of destined mates usually it comes with chemistry. Not so much in Matefinder.

Matefinder has an interesting premise. The characters just lacked a certain finesse and personality to fully engage me as a reader. I read another book that this author co-author, Queen Heir which is why I chose to start this series. Queen Heir was really good, so I am hoping that the second book in this series redeems the first.

Now, you can pretty much guess who wins this disagreement. I kinda like how he is acting all alpha and tough when he knows he is going to give in.

Waiting on Wednesday (2) Lifeblood

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My Firstlife is over, but my Everlife is only now beginning.

With her last living breath, Tenley "Ten" Lockwood made her choice and picked her realm in the Everlife. Now, as the war between Troika and Myriad rages, she must face the consequences.

Because Ten possesses a rare supernatural ability to absorb and share light, the Powers That Be have the highest expectations for her future—and the enemy wants her neutralized. Fighting to save her Secondlife, she must learn about her realm from the ground up while launching her first mission: convincing a select group of humans to join her side before they die. No pressure, right?

But Ten's competition is Killian, the boy she can't forget—the one who gave up everything for her happiness. He has only one shot at redemption: beating Ten at a game she's never even played. As their throw-downs heat up, so do their undeniable feelings, and soon, Ten will have to make another choice. Love…or victory

Why am I waiting?

"Because of the balance. You have the gift of finding mates for your kind. But you also have the gift of giving fertility to female vampires. It'sin your blood. Literally. If a female vampire drinks your blood, she could mate with a male vampire and have a vampire child."

An interesting twist on werewolves and vampires. Here is hoping that no female drinks from her blood.

Review: Air (The Elementals #2)

Author L.B. Gilbert
Format e-book
Print Length 287 pages
Publisher Self
Published Nov. 28, 2016
Despite being the junior Elemental, Logan’s never had to worry about failing a mission before. Not until an overgrown and annoyingly attractive shifter comes along.

Being an Elemental is in Logan’s blood. Hers is the gift of Air, a vast power she’s still struggling to control. Then a Were named Connell hunts her down. His wolf is missing, and he blames her.

A den of werewolves is the last place Logan wants to be. The testosterone alone is enough to make her choke. But she has a mystery to solve. She will find out who is stealing wolves even if kills her.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what the enemy has planned…

My Opinion

Air starts off with Logan the youngest elemental having to enact justice on the family that committed the crimes in the previous book. Once justice was delivered she went dancing, where she felt as if she was being watched. She was by Connell, a werewolf who believes that she stripped him of his wolf. Logan realizes that Connell will need her help to get his wolf back, but along the way the wind speaks truths to her that cause to her have to intervene. This of course puts Connell’s male side on edge.

Logan is different from Diana in that she has a softness about her that is due to her age. Yes, she is an elemental but her momma and her aunt raised her in such a way that she is independent. She knows how to take care of herself and understands the value of family. She is a fighter for justice across the magical world and takes her job serious. She just also takes unwinding serious as well. She is weary of outsiders as she should be. Although, there are some insiders that she does not trust either.

Connell is beta to his father’s alpha. He knows that without his wolf the dynamics in his pack will shift. He needs to find who stole his wolf and work out how it is even possible. The only ones with the right to strip magical beings of the power is the elementals. Logic would dictate that he must hunt the one known to strip powers, that being Logan. He does not find what he expects.

That these two are mates comes as no surprise. What does come as a surprise is Connell’s easy acceptance of it. Logan has a harder time and continues to fight the good fight- her attraction to him. Connell is ready and willing to do what is necessary to prove to her that their being mates is real. Without his wolf though, how can Logan trust that. The tension between the two is pretty hard core and it is fun to watch as they battle it out.

The two must work together to figure out how and why someone is stealing other’s wolfs. All is not what it seems and there has been a breach among the elementals. Who is the weakest, and how are they to handle the information that they obtain?

Air is a fun easy read that is just what you need after a hard week at work. It does not end in a cliffhanger but there are enough questions left over that Air ends with a perfect set up for Water.

My Rating 3 out of 5 stars

Review: Queen Heir

Author Jaymin Eve, Leia Stone
Format e-book
Print Length 250 pages
Publisher Self
Published Dec. 13, 2016

A gripping new fantasy series by USA today bestselling authors Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone.

Arianna is a queen heir and at 20 years old she's now eligible for the crown of wolf shifters. Heirs are trained and groomed so that they're ready, should the queen perish during their time of eligibility.

Of course, there's little chance of that happening. The Red Queen has stood for a century, and her power is beyond reckoning.

Or so Arianna believes, right up until the final tolling of the bells. The queen has fallen. Four heirs will now fight it out for the crown.

Let the summit begin.

My Opinion

Arianna is a queen heir, one of four. All of who are in the running to become the new queen of the wolf shifters. She has been raised for this moment her whole life, with her trusted advisor by her side. There will be a series of test, and the last heir standing becomes the queen. The summit, where the wolf council performs the series of test for the heirs will place Arianna in even more danger. She doesn’t care, her purpose to obtain the crown so she can figure out who killed the queen.

Arianna is a girl who never thought for one second she would be queen. Why should she when the Red Queen has ruled for about a hundred years. Yes, she went through the training and she took it seriously but she had no ambition to become queen. Then her life gets flipped upside down. She lands on her feet and rolls with the punches. There is more to the queens murder than meets the eye and it will take her working closely with the bear king to figure everything out.

Kade is every bit of alpha bear as you would expect him to be. He does defer to Arianna a lot, as she has more of the territory to rule. He seems to want her to succeed as wolf queen and that is different from previous bear kings. There is a definite attraction between the two yet both of them are fighting it. The wolves and bears are forbidden to mate. It will be interesting to see if this attraction goes anywhere. My favorite scenes were when Arianna and Kade were together.

Arianna and Kade find themselves in a situation that no ruler wants to be in. A hidden enemy has unmasked themselves and now they must protect their people. Finding an ally among the enemy may be harder than they think.

Queen Heir is a great first book in a series, that looks to be five books deep. It has a lot of world building, that flowed with the story so you did not get bored. There are enough questions left over that you can’t help but go and one-click the second book in the series. It is up for pre-order right now.

My Rating 4 out of 5 stars

Book Trailer Saturday (1) Windwitch

Some people believe you can fall in love at first sight. When it comes to books I believe those people. Book trailers are an excellent way to fall in love at first sight. I hope to feature a book trailer here every Saturday to help you fall in love at first sight...

Review: Torn (A Wicked Saga #2)

Author Jennifer L. Armentrout
Format e-book
Print Length 299 pages
Publisher Self
Published July 19, 2016

Torn between duty and survival, nothing can be the same.

Everything Ivy Morgan thought she knew has been turned on its head. After being betrayed and then nearly killed by the Prince of the Fae, she’s left bruised and devastated—and with an earth-shattering secret that she must keep at all costs. And if the Order finds out her secret, they’ll kill her.

Then there’s Ren Owens, the sexy, tattooed Elite member of the Order who has been sharing Ivy’s bed and claiming her heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but Ivy knows that Ren has always valued his duty to the Order above all else—he could never touch her if he knew the truth. That is, if he let her live at all. Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?

But as the Fae Prince begins to close in, intent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld, Ivy is running out of options. If she doesn’t figure out who she can trust—and fast—it’s not only her heart that will be torn apart, but civilization itself.

My Opinion

***Spoilers for Wicked!!! You have been warned****

Torn picks up where wicked ended, literally. As in right where it ended as this doesn’t normally happen in books it was a nice surprise. Ivy just found out she was the hybrid everyone and the fae is hunting. Her bestie Val has betrayed the Order, the same Order that her boyfriend Ren is an elite member of. Tink, the brownie living in her apartment is the only one who knows what she is. The fae prince is looking to knock her up and she just wants to curl up in the fetal position to cry. Atlas, life will not give her that. Tink’s advice- tell no one and run. Run as far as you can. Ivy is not the backing down kinda gal though.

Ivy is still the strong, independent gal we loved in Wicked. Her world has been rocked to nuclear portions. She found out she is what she has been protecting the world against all her life. She was almost killed and yet she still goes out and hunts the bad guys. Gotta hand it to the gal, putting on your big girl panties and dealing is her thing.

Ren is well just as swoon-rific as always. There was a scene where I was like what the heck Ren, but after that I got back to wanting to hug him again. His relationship with Tink was even better than his relationship with Ivy. Their loving to hate each other is pretty sweet.

Speaking of Tink, he makes this book. 100% stills the show. I am not sure if he is even trying to do it but he does. Between his amazon obsession to his fan-guying over all the right shows you just have to love him. Not only that but his rational for all of his decisions is pretty spot on. He works as a bestie because that is what he feels in his heart.

The trials that Ivy goes through in this book would have broken a lesser person. What she faces and the way her world is rocked is a lot. She goes with the punches and it was just the right book for me.

Torn is a great sequel. It has the right amount of action, romance and friendship to keep you wondering when the next book will be released.

My Rating 4 out of 5 stars
